wow...its been a while

So its been sometime since I last wrote a blog post. I just don't usually think about it. Obviously the munchkin keeos me busy he is almost 2 now.
Adrian is 9 now, in the 3rd grade and has been making A Honor Roll. He is also doing boyscouts and having a blast! He is advancing quickly in his age rank. He loves his action figures still and for the first time this Christmas asked for a video game. He is also a great big brother and baby brother is his biggest fan!
Wyatt will be 2 next month, growing so fast and learning new words everyday! We will soon be potty training and transitioning from the crib to a toddler bed!! He loves trains and is coloring, not well, and will play with any toy that has wheels. His heart is just fine, and we won't have to see cardiologist again until this summer sometime.
I have really gotten into crocheting, I love making toys mostly, but I do participate in swaps with a group, and will be starting on a blanket next month with yarn my sister bought me! Purples, white and cream! Other than that nothing new going on!

OB appt and first LLL meeting

Monday I had another OB appt just routine! I have been going by the due date an Ultrasound tech gave me, which was March 13th that would put me at 16 weeks today well....my OB didn't like that she wants to stick to my original due date of March 2nd which means I am almost 18wks now! Baby has a strong "happy" heartbeat. My blood pressure is staying down which is good and I have my Anatomy Ultrasound October 16th I am so  excited!!
Alright so last night I went to my first LLL meeting! It was small but awesome I am so glad that I have already started. Right now there is not much for me to put in but listening to other peoples questions really did help me, like I know now that unless I plan on going back to work I dont need to worry about pumping except for enough to have on hand in case someone is watching the baby..wont be often!..no need to have a supply always on hand. Also there is at least one woman who had a c-section and was breastfeeding right away which is helpful to me not to mention on the board there are plenty!! yay!!

Getting back in the Groove

I really hate that I keep going off track with this blog!! I know it happens to the best of us but still.
This pregnancy has me all nutty right now, I am going to need to buy EVERYTHING but I can't buy ANYTHING because I do not know what I am having yet!!
Also I know that if we have a boy its going to cause a HUGE fight between me and hubby because I dont want to circumsize and he is all for it...GAH!!!
Anyway..I am at 13wks now and I go back to the OB on the 24th of September, hopefully she will have me set up an appt for the Anatomy Ultrasound then. Sorry for rambling :D

a crafty wife, is a happy wife....

Well in my case this is so!  I have been doing a few projects lately. Mostly plastic canvas work, but I am also learning to crochet. My latest "big" project is a Sunbonnet Welcome Sign I made for a craft exchange that I am apart of this spring.

In the midst of everything crafty, we are packing up our house to move in May. Its a bit crazy but I know it will all work out for the best.

Back to crafting...I also started making suncatchers with the plastic canvas the one I did last night is a dragonfly (pictured above). I will also get a picture of the sign to post but do not have one right now. I will be making more things over the next couple of months and hope to maybe set up a booth at a craft show in the fall and winter time. If you want handmade ornaments just let me know :)

I keep saying I am going to post more ofter but it hasn't happened maybe now that I am doing more crafting I will be post more about them.

Love you all

uh, yeah.....

Ok, ok I have not been as faithful to my blog as I would like to be...but lets face it right now my days seems pretty dull with AJ in school and all. He is doing marvelous by the way!! He is WAY ahead of his class mates academically but socially he still needs to be with his class. His reading skills have blossomed and he will be in a first grade reading class for now to assess where he needs to be headed. I am super proud of him, just goes to show all our homeschooling paid off!

I am working on clearing out things I no longer need, things that should have been trashed long ago...stuff I had in highschool posters etc... So I started yesterday and have made pretty good progress, work will continue this evening after Landon goes home.

I also think I am going to start on a project this week, making a scrapbook of my Auntie Claire's life. I am going to Chesapeake this weekend to visit everyone I am very happy about this. Have fun until next time....

New Years is coming....

Well its been quite a while since I have posted anything....I've tried a few times and it wouldn't allow the post to go through, so then I just give up. For the New Year I am going to work hard to try and post more often.

Adrian is doing great in school he is so smart! Only problem is he talks a LOT!! I am so happy I took so much time with him when he was home all the time working on "school" stuff.

I have been doing some babysitting since August its been a lot of fun and has made me realize that I want to finish my degree in Early Childhood Education, after that I am going to look into Childrens Ministry because thats just where I feel I need to be heading.

Thanksgiving and Christmas went well. Adrians 6th birthday was right after Thanksgiving, we had a very small party Transformers themed...

No baby yet...we shall see what the new year brings us...

And today I went to walmart and bought some Dawn dishliquid...dishliquid!! I hate doing dishes yet it made me really excited to go buy it wth!! ha ha

Just something that i was thinking about...........

pregnancy shows

I watch these shows on a regular basis, they drive me crazy, but I still watch them. This morning I was watching Make Room for Multiples, and I saw something pretty exciting, the woman who was having triplets hired a doula to help comfort her before and after the c-section she had to have. 2 of the 3 babies were left in NICU for a while and when the parents went back to the hospital the doula came over to care for the baby at home and immediately put the baby into a moby wrap!
I just thought it was neat to see a doula on these shows I have seen midwives but never a doula and I just thought it was really neat!

OBGYN APPT

well...My original appt was scheduled for the 22nd, due to multipule issues in the drs life yesterday she had to reschedule but very quickly I went in today. Here is our course of action....
The dr agrees that I am not ovulating every month, so I will be on clomid for 5 days during my next cycle...I did a lot of blood work today and will go back in roughly 25 days for more. Bright side...only a 5% chance of having twins on clomid..lol, I would just die!! But one of the downsides to going with the Drs here...I may consider alternatives....the dr informed me I may have to have another c-section! She said its not my only option but because of the reasons I had one in the first place...so I am not going to hold onto that thought entirely..push it to the back of my mind...let me get pregnant first
Oh....My brother in law and his wife are expecting!! I am so excited to be an aunt...she heard the heart beat today!! she is due sept 17th!!

New ideas

So I really like to cook...a lot. For Christmas I was given a beginners decorators kit from Matts aunt..mini muffin pans from Mom and a Train Cake Pan from Alicia (totally cute!)...for my birthday Matt got me a stand mixer which is great because I am tired of having to turn off my hand mixer to add my ingredients...VERY annoying.
I also like to try new recipes out, tonight I made homemade spaghetti sauce it was pretty good...my meatballs were too plain and I am not sure what I did with those tonight since I have made them several times before.
So I just might start blogging about things that I am trying out too...maybe it will motivate me to actually get up here and blog...I am way behind on TONS of things...like my baby not being a baby anymore...lol, he just does all of these things I wasn't sure he could do....just too smart can't wait for him to start school...
Also, for those of you who are close to me (somewhat lol) know that i have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, on the 22nd I am going to the OBGYN to talk to someone about it...cross your fingers its nothing major.

drs appts, work and more

Well yesterday, 1-24-11, I went to the orthopedic surgeon for a gangelion cyst in my L wrist well right now the Dr is just giving me some Mobic and a splint to wear for 3 wks and he is hoping to shrink it. I go back on the 14th of February and if it hasn't gone down then the Dr is going to pop it with a needle and last resort will be surgery...
so as far as work goes...I went to a Regional Rally January 14th and 15th and got to see the brand new Spring Line, awesome!! They also introduced a new promotion for double hostess benefits! What a great promotion thats $50 for each bonus we give to our hostesses! I am so excited thats for the whole month of February..also i am going to have my renewal show on February the 19th at noon and I want ALL of my friends to come and bring a guest (or your moms and sisters!!!) PLEASE COME HAVE SOME FUN WITH ME!!!!
I have started exercising...a pain with the wrist pain, lol, so hopefully the dr can help fix it. Well thats all right now...love you all

new year, new beginnings

This week I went to the DR because I found a cyst in my hand which if you know me, the L wrist has been bothering me since about 7th grade (YAY) well the cyst is quite large so I decided to be seen, and now I have to make an appt with Ortho on monday...
Also while there I was given a referral to GYN, things have been pretty crazy with my body lately and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year so they are sending me out. Super! I of course will post an update as soon as I figure out whats going to happen.

Also this month (next weekend actually) I am going to Philly for my very first Rally with Premier Designs Jewelry! I am super excited to go to this because I really love this business. I woke with a really great team of ladies.
Sometime soon I am going to have a photo shoot with Devon Shanor who is also a Premier Designs jeweler, I won it around thanksgiving I am very excited to do this shoot.

Until next time.....

My New Start for 2011

So in 2011 I really want my business to take off, I am going to put myself to the grind and really get this going! I am going to have a Home Show on January the 8th and would like for anyone who reads this to come, and if you can't then if you would like to purchase something let me know! January 14th and 15th I get to go to Philly for the Regional Rally! Which is so exciting because it will be my first one ever!
I am a shy person by nature, so this new adventure is going to be hard, getting out there to meet new people BUT I feel that WHEN I get out there and do this it will come more naturally and then I will be a pro at it.
Here is to a great 2011 for me and everyone that I am blessed to have in my life.

Our Winter Lessons and Fun

Well, we started with doing an Advent Calendar just a simple one with little candies on it so that Adrian could count down to Christmas, well he quickly lost interest and no longer wants to take the candies off! He lost one of the candles on our Menorah for the Hanukkah lessons too! Well today is St. Nicholas Day, I've got a few things planned we are going to watch Veggie Tales St Nicholas movie, do some crafts, and S for Santa Clause activity (even though he knows his letters) and talk about how St Nick got his start.
Also still to come is National Poinsettia Day I found a lovely Legend of the Poinsettia to tell him and also some science/social studies lessons planned with facts about poinsettias. Fun times...

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

and so starts.....

Today at sunset begins Hanukkah, obviously I am NOT jewish but we will still be learning about the holiday and even "lighting" a litte menorah. Also we will be doing an advent calendar today so that AJ can count down seeing as how he thinks everytime someone says its Christmas time he thinks we will go to bed and wake up to presents and stockings.
A few other things going on this month will be learning about the TRUE meaning of Christmas, Kwanza, etc...
A list of events this month (if you want to do any of them): National Roof Over your Head Day Dec 3rd, Read a Book Month, National Cookie Day Dec 4th, Saint Nicholas Day Dec 6th, National Poinsettia Day Dec 12th, Wright Brothers Day Dec 17th, Winter Begins Dec 21st, Hanukkah Sunset Dec 1st to Sunset Dec 9th, Christmas Dec 25th, Kwanza Dec 26th to Jan 1st....
And I have things planned for everyday!! Plus a few things in between such as making some decorations!! I just love homeschooling its a lot of fun, and when I went to school for Early Childhood Education we were told that when we taught pre-schoolers NOT to just teach the holidays that we observe but to teach all of them so that we did not offend someone who did not observe etc etc..so I figure that by starting AJ on them this year IF he ever went to a public school he would already know.
I will post some of the things that we have done for FALL and thanksgiving pictures are on FACEBOOK if you really want to see.

Thanksgiving Week

This week is going to be FUN! We started yesterday by making handprint turkeys, the way we all did as kids, tracing your hand and then coloring it in. Except ours are a little different the feathers are made out of beads. Multicolored and brightly colored beads.
Today we are going to be making handprint turkeys again, BUT this time we are going to paint our palms brown, and fingers differnt colors to make the feathers and again i will let him decorate it with beads, sequins, etc..
Tomorrow will be pilgrims, I just need to figure out what to do with that, I am actually thinking I might just use pictures of our faces to make them, I always make one of whatever I am showing him how to make, and maybe wednesday we will make something with Aunt Donna since she will be here visiting us.
Thursday...is Thanksgiving so crafts are over...Friday we might go get a family picture taken and then Saturday is Adrian's birthday party!
Chuck-e-Cheese, wow thats gonna be FUN, tons of screaming kids at 2:30 on a saturday afternoon...lol, no really it will be fun I love being around kids. I would like to have TONS of them in my home!

Cleaning out...

So yesterday I started on a project that I am now regretting...cleaning out Adrian's toys and clothes again in his room, we did clothes in summer and had to do round 2 for the year. Well his birthday and Christmas are both coming up next month so I thought that maybe we should clean out his old toys that he either does that play with at all anymore OR are broken...well let me tell you having a child old enough to tell you what to get rid of and not is a pain when your trying to do this. Everything he saw me touch he was like I want to keep that!
Well I am still working on it, he also wants his room rearranged now and I originally agreed, BUT, after really thinking of the way he wants it set up there is not going to be ANY play room at all for him in there. So I may just need to set it up the way that he wants and show him that it won't work.
I did get his whole closet cleaned out...which if you saw his closet you'd die! He cleaned his room by himself he makes it look really nice, well what you can see, when I opened his closet to "organize" it he had tons of clothes mixed in with lots of toys just thrown in there. So I got all the clothes out of there, then when i did his dresser he just stuffed clothes where ever they would fit, I keep it organized, socks and under wear in the top, shirts in next drawer, pants etc...
Also I decided to start buying him plastic tubs for things like his legos he is now getting, and train track peices, I have to do 2 for trains because he has Thomas and GeoTrax.
Well enough babbling for today..will post pictures of the room when we get it done.

Reading Lists

Oprah's 2010 Reading Lists Ages 3 to 5

I am not really a huge Oprah fan, but I was searching online for some reading lists for Adrian so that when we go to the Library this week to return the 15 we checked out last time, I have an idea of what to look for instead of blindly searching this place (its pretty good sized Children section) so this is what I found.

All The World by Liz Garton Scanlon
Boo Hoo Bird by Jeremy Tankard
Book Fiesta! A Children's Day/Book Day Celebration by Pat Mora
Bubble Trouble by Magaret Mahy
Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
My Garden by Kevin Henkes
Opuestos: Mexican Folk Art Opposites in English and Spanish by Cynthia Weill
Wee Little Bunny by Lauren Thompson
What Can You Do With a Paleta? by Carmen Tafolla
Wombat Walkabout by Carol Diggory Shields
The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf (Classic Title)
Frederick by Leo Lionni (Classic Title)
Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell (Classic Title)
The Lion & The Mouse by Jerry Pinkney (Classic Title)
The Mitten by Jim Aylesworth, Reteller (Classic Title)
"More, More, More," Said the Baby by Vera B Williams

Other Classic Titles in same age group:
Harold and The Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
Go, Dog, Go! by P.D. Eastman

Millions of Cats by Wanda Gag
The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter

Like I said I do not really like Oprah BUT I am going to attempt to read everything on this list with Adrian. And then there is also a list for boys I have yet to check out and then there is the ages 6 to 9 list that I am going to check out when that time comes.

Baby Things....

Well, as everyone knows I do not have an infant anymore (although I badly want one!) But I get all sorts of magazines and coupons packages. One in particular is for Gerber, and their Nestle Good Start Formula, after having been through all the formula mess with AJ I vow to never to do it again with any other children I have, so they are just garbage to me. But each pack comes with a mini magazine and I was absently flipping through it and came across an article "The Scoop on choosing a formula" again promoting THEIR formula. And the very next page is an article "Bonding at feeding time" which is an article about breastfeeding, which to me seems right, but just makes their efforts to sell their formula a waste of time!
The breastfeeding article talks about skin to skin contact and the bond that is made between a mother and child during that time, awesome!, I have a wish for any other children that I have (and I feel like a bad mother for not breastfeeding AJ) but I want them to never touch a bottle unless Matthew wants to feed them! In which case it will still be pumped breast milk. If there is anyone with advise out there OR has books they can loan me about attachment parenting OR breastfeeding, please leave a comment!
Love you all.
